William Paul were appointed in May 2015 to prepare an application for the conversion of the existing imposing office building on Finchley High Road, to provide 33 apartments through permitted development.
The clients brief was to create one bedroom apartments that make the best possible use of space. Our solution was to provide flexibility in the layout of the flats by allowing both the bedroom and living rooms to be opened up fully via sliding doors increasing the usable floorspace and allowing light to pass between both rooms. As a result of this strategy the apartments benefit from additional flexibility and a dramatic increase in the sense of space.
